NetFUNNEL supports traffic control without directly interfering with the service environment.
- Service: A target website (URL) that interacts with NetFUNNEL to apply traffic control.
To apply traffic control without interfering with the service infrastructure, connect the agent to a built web environment.
WEB Agent Technical Overview
- Before waiting
- Before waiting, initialize the setting information. This process is to get the URL of the NetFUNNEL server, the URL of the Setting file, and the SDK URL and initialize them.
- Go to the Agent menu in the console -> Select Web and insert the NetFUNNEL Tag code at the top of the <head> in the html.
- Waiting on
- Expose a virtual waiting room to apply waiting to a specific part of the page (HTML) where you want to apply waiting for traffic.
- The virtual waiting room is exposed and periodically requests re-entry. Update the number of people waiting in the virtual waiting room and the estimated time.
- Use the Start Waiting function provided in the SDK to apply the virtual waiting room.
- On a wait response, the waiting room is called and on a block response, the blocking room is posted.
- On an Allow entry response, the queue ends and the callback function is called.
- After waiting
- This is what happens after the wait ends. After the wait ends, the entry key is returned to the netfunnel server to indicate that the entry is complete.
- Use the Waiting Completion functions provided in the SDK for successful entry to implement your post-wait logic.
- There are three reasons why a user's wait may end.
- Entry success : If they receive a successful entry response during a periodic re-entry request.
- Entry request failed: If there is no response from the server or a network error occurs during a re-entry request.
- Cancle Waiting : When the visitor clicks the Cancel Wait button.
NetFunnel Agent Features
The NetFunnel agent monitors the URLs in a segment to provide wait/block feature without directly interfering with the service.
Once the agent has been successfully installed, the following features are available in the NetFunnel console.
Allows Multi-domain
NetFUNNEL allows you to manage the traffic of multiple sites built on your service separately.
For example, if your service is divided into domains called promotion.com / platform.com / service.com, you can create and manage a project for each main domain.
Traffic Control
NetFUNNEL supports traffic control through basic/path control segments.
- Basic control: controls entries to a single page, and allows you to control the maximum number of entries per second for a registered URL.
- Basic control segment types
- Static : Controls for a fixed number of entries allowed regardless of processing time.
- Dynamic : Enter the minimum/maximum number of allowed entries, and automatically adjust the number of allowed entries based on the set baseline segment processing time.
- Path control: Specify the start/end URL and control incoming entries to that segment.
End User Monitoring (EUM)
EUM data is collected from service visitors and an interface is provided for monitoring in the console.
Traffic control is provided regardless of browser type.
Monitoring provides transaction and URL monitoring.
