Path control is a feature that enables traffic control by registering start and end URLs to segments.
Create path control segments and prevent service overload due to traffic spikes.
Create a new Path Control segment
Step 0. Click the '+' button at the bottom of the Path Control screen.
Step 1. Enter a segment name.
- It should be distinctive enough to identify among other segments.
Step 2. Enter the Start and End URL that you wish to control traffic for.
- It is optional to include the protocol (e.g. https://).
- Only URLs that are subordinate to your main domain can be entered, and duplicate URLs that are in use by other segments cannot be used.
Step 3. Enter the number of Limited inflow.
- Limited inflow : The maximum number of concurrent users your service page will accept.
Step 4. Set the optional values.
- Waiting room
- In the free trial plan, you can only select 1 template, which is provided by default.
- Assign an operator
- If there is a certain operator for each segment, assign an appropriate manager.
- Only enterprise plan supports to invite an additional memeber in your organization.
Step 5. Advanced Settings
- Re-request intervals(s) : You can manually set the interval for validating visitors.
- The system will dynamically adjust the interval to align with the specified minimum and maximum values.
- If the number of visitors is lower than your plan's limit, the interval will be shorter. As the number of visitors increases, the re-request interval will increase, up to the maximum value.
- Timeout (s) : Set the validity time of the Inflow key issued after waiting is complete.
- Default : Validate the entry identification key within the specified minimum and maximum validity time.
- Manual Setup: Set the minimum and maximum validity time arbitrarily to validate the entry identification key within this interval.
- Alive Notice re-request interval
- Set the interval for validating visitors on the website path.
- Alive Notice Expiration
- Set the expiration time for alive notice.
- When a visitor's validation has expired, they are no longer counted towards the limited inflow.
Step 6. Click the 'Confirm' button to complete creating a segment.
Edit and remove the Path Control Segment
You can edit the segment by clicking 'Settings' button in each segment.
If you want to remove the segment, click 'Trash icon' button.
Be aware that you are not allowed to restore the segment after removing it.
